Running Race- 10k / 1st  Place Overall / Richland, Michigan-USA

This event was another quick decision. The Dominican Federation invited me to another ITU event four weeks earlier. I decided to do this run to get ready for the Pan American ITU Cup in Canada and I went to the race without having rested. I felt a bit heavy the first 2KM, it was a cold day and one of those days that you are just not in a good mood. I kept my mind focused and remembered a few Mantras that took me strong to the finish; I had a good race and felt Happy. How can a 5 K event change you? It does not matter what event it is, the distance, the location, who is doing it or not, the equipment you use, the results, the place of finish or the final time. That you evolve as an individual, that you overcome your own weaknesses? That you lean to enjoy yourself. That does not have a price nor nothing to do with other issues that are external…everything is happening internally.
